The Palomino Restaurant in Seattle, Washington, threw a Preview Party to celebrate their 21st anniversary and their new menu. In recognition of Brad & Michelle Smith, Co-Chairs of the Auction of Washington Wines, they also presented a check for $61,000. to Seattle Children's Hospital. It was a "red carpet" event with people from well known winemakers and chefs from Washington state, as well as representatives from the Seattle Children's, the Auction of Washington Wines, and of course Palomino. Appetizers and cocktails from the Palomino's new menu, were being served, as well as Chateau Ste. Michelle wines.

Red Wine & Chocolate

Benson Vineyards & Esate Winery

Date: 02/14/2010

The new winery and tasting room for Benson Vineyards & Estate Winery sits on top of a hill overlooking estate vineyards, Lake Chelan and the mountains — it has to be one of the more spectacular settings for a winery in Washington state. And there are a lot of fantastic setting for wineries in Washington. My wife, Susan, and I visited the winery for Red Wine & Chocolate weekend. We had a nice visit with owner/winemaker, Scott Benson, and of course tasted their wonderful wines. We'll be back. Soon.

An afternoon at Napeequa Vintners

Winemaker, David Morris, loves pairing his wine with food

Date: 01/20/2010

Winemaker/Owner, David Morris, of Nepeequa Vintners in Plain Washington, not only loves to make wine, but loves to cook as well.  He prides himself in pairing his wine with the perfect food. He invited Larry & I to his winery for a three course lunch.   The wine, food and conversation was so good, that before we knew it, we looked outside to discover it was getting dark.  Not a bad way to spend an afternoon.  Thanks David.

David plans on carrying some specialty & gourmet food items in his tasting room.

Wine tasting on Maui!

A visit to Tedeschi Vineyards in Hawaii on the island of Maui.

Date: 01/13/2010

There are now wineries in nearly every state of the United States, and we had the chance to visit one in Hawaii on the island of Maui. Tedeschi Vineyards produces red, white, sparkling, and raspberry wines.

Believe it or not they have some estate fruit and have been experimenting with various varieties for a number of years. The setting is in the "up country" part of Maui and it's incredibly beautiful.

If you are a wine lover and get a chance to vacation on Maui, you can still get your quota of wine tasting in by visiting the friend staff at Maui's winery!
